We have entered the flu season! Sister Dorothy Jonathan of UCT’s Student Wellness Service explains the differences between colds and flu and what you can do to prevent and treat these nasty conditions.

UCT recycles in colours

UCT residences use a unique colour coded system for routing waste to special recycling plants off campus.  Manager: Student Housing Glenn von Zeil explained the system to us.

UCT Student Night Managers Excel After Hours

Two to three student Night Managers are employed during each vac period at mid- and year-end by Student Housing & Residence Life’s Vac Accommodation Office. They form part of the vac staff component looking after UCT’s guests in residence. These are both UCT students staying on during the holidays for a variety of reasons and commercial guests taking advantage of UCT’s vac accommodation.


We spoke to Nontandu Maqxala and Lovemore Vushe between shifts during the June/July vacation period.
